Established on 15 June 1960 in the historic Walled City of Ahmedabad, Sardar Vallabhbhai Arts College has been dedicated to providing affordable and quality higher education to students belonging to diverse social, cultural and economic backgrounds. The institution was founded with a humanitarian vision to make higher education accessible to the economically weaker and working-class sections of society.
One of the most distinctive features introduced at the time of its establishment was the innovative concept of “Earn and Learn”, which encouraged students to pursue education while developing self-reliance and dignity of labour.
